Camila Valenzuela, is a Chilean who’s been living in New York for a little over four years. She shares her life with her partner, their cat Ellie, and their little daughter, Aurora, who arrived to brighten their days and challenge Camila to rethink how we educate the new generations, giving fresh perspectives on parenting and education.

Camila’s journey began in theater, but life led her to education, where she discovered another passion. With studies in theater acting, early childhood education, and a master's in educational leadership, she loves to combine creativity and pedagogy to make learning a unique and enriching experience.

Camila came to Mi Casita looking for a place where she could develop her professional career and where bilingualism and multiculturalism were valued. This will be her third year at this school, and she’s thrilled with the path she’s taken and the opportunities she’s been given. This year, she’ll have the honor of working at both the school and the cultural center, which excites and motivates her, as she’ll also be able to develop new programs that bring the community together. Camila is passionate about organizing events and activities that connect people, creating spaces where culture comes alive and experiences are shared, and fostering a sense of community in every gathering.

When the sun is shining in her free time, you’ll find her enjoying a picnic, a day at the beach, or a relaxed brunch with friends. When the cold arrives, she’ll be knitting, reading, or enjoying the cinema and family life. Life is about savoring every moment, and that's what she tries to do. Nothing without joy!
