Claudia Zarroca Ortega is from Barcelona, Spain. She’s 29 years old and has been living in New York for a year. Claudia was ready to change her life and move to another country and couldn’t find a better reason to do it – Love! The decision she made has given her the opportunity to live in a new country and on top of that, experience a different culture and be able to build a new life in a city with great vibes and plenty of diversity. She’s proud of her capacity to adapt to this new scenario and to meet great people along the way. Claudia studied Education in Barcelona. She’s worked with children in summer camps and as a babysitter, has taught classes of different subjects, and has been a Mi Casita teacher and after-school Spanish teacher since January 2024.

In January, after returning from Spain after Christmas, Claudia found Mi Casita’s job listing and couldn’t pass on the opportunity to become part of the team. Since the first moment she met the staff she genuinely felt at home. Mi Casita’s philosophy aligns with her educational values and she aims to foster the curiosity, exploration, and respect for the ideas of every individual. Her desire is to contribute to the integral development of the children through a method that values creativity, active participation and mutual respect. She’s here to give her best and learn from each one of her colleagues.

In her free time, Claudia enjoys spending time with her partner and friends. She lives in Queens with her husband, who is also from Barcelona, and loves exploring new spots in the city, diving into books, going for walks, and doing yoga outdoors. She also likes to sign up for various extracurricular activities to keep herself active and discover new things.
